BASIX Certificate Centre

At the BASIX Certificate Centre, we utilise the knowledge and experience of dedicated professionals within their fields of expertise.

The main contributing figure behind the BASIX Certificate Centre is Peter Waller.  Peter commenced his career in the Housing Industry back in 1980 as a selected member of a “Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry & Joinery Course”.

On completion, he immediately furthered his knowledge and successfully completed the “Building Foreman & Clerk of Works Post-Trade Certificate”, plus the “Local Government Building Inspectors Qualifying Subjects” course.

He continued to work on-site as a Frame/Fix-out Carpenter, then moved into the ‘builders office’ of one of Sydney’s leading project home builders, Huxley Homes.  Here he continued to develop his estimating and scheduling skills.

During this time he successfully applied and was granted a full builders licence in 1988 (40605).

He continued his estimating with Bovis Homes and the specialised builder Lyndsay Edmonds Homes, and following this he was employed for thirteen years by an award-winning home builder, Riverford Homes, where his duties were Chief Estimator & General Office Manager and during this period he gained vital experience is computerised estimating and CAD drafting, and for over ten years provided consultation services to the award-winning NSW builder Home Team.

Since 2001, Peter has also been an accredited member and accredited Energy Assessor of ABSA (Australian Building Sustainability Association) and now concentrates on providing BASIX, Thermal and Section J services to the NSW housing industry.
